2/24/18 - Sumner is a 5-foot-8 147-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Sumner has a submarine release point, lean frame, starts in a crouched position, minimal leg lift, works slightly across body, fastball at 69-71 mph, arm side sink, 60-65 mph slider, 10-to-4 sweeping action, 66-69 mph change up, fastball arm speed, sinking action, works the bottom of the zone with all pitches, has deception.
11/4/17 - Sumner is a lean 5-foot-8 147-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Sumner starts in a crouched position, works mainly from stretch, low three quarters arm slot, works fastball consistently to the bottom of the zone, finishes in fielding position, occasional late run and sink, 71-73 mph, high percentage of strikes, slider has occasional late 10-to-4 action, sweeping action, change up at 68-69 mph, near fastball arm speed, some with arm side sink.
6/27/17 - Sumner is 5-foot-8 147-pound right-handed submarine pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Sumner shows a smaller but still athletic build, starts in a crouched stance, repeats delivery with fluid and loose arm action. Due to the nature of his arm slot his fastball shows run and sink to his arm side which make him deceptive and hard on right-handed hitters. Fastball is 71-75 mph and throws it for a high percentage of strikes. Sumner will mix in a slider at 65-69 mph, thrown near fastball arm speed and sweeps with 10-to-4 action. Slider was also throw for a high percentage of strikes.

10/30/16 - Sumner has a submarine style delivery, throws across his body, direction towards the right-handed hitter as he gets down the mound, fastball at 69-71 mph, late sink, 10-to-4 breaking ball, 64-66 mph, sweeping action, gradual, change up 65-66 mph, flashes some late sink, around the zone on every pitch.
5/31/16 - Sumner is a 5-foot-8 130-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2018 class.  Sumner has a low three-quarters slot, a submarine delivery,  his fastball was 64-67 mph, breaking ball at 56-59, 10-to-4 action, shows ability to repeat release, runs ball in to RHH with fastball, works both sides of plate, smooth rhythm in delivery, high number of strikes.
