2/21/15: PITCHING- 5-foot-11, 185 pounder pitches from a high ¾ slot with a long arm action.  Max effort, choppy delivery.  Level shoulders with a good line to the plate.  Lands square, athletic finish.  Fastball was straight at 77-78, up in the zone.  12/6 breaking ball sat 69-72 with sharp break, down in the zone.  Changeup was 70-72 with arm side run and some sink, but erratic.  

5-foot-11, 185 pounds, ran a 7.26-60.  In the field showcased soft hands with good footwork.  Clean exchange, plays through the ball.  Across the diamond was 81 mph from a  short arm action with accuracy.  Offensively, hits from an open setup, loads back.  Bat tends to wrap during the load.  Leg kick, average balance.  Above average bat speed with a great approach to the ball.  Long, uphill path showing pull-side power.  Recorded a high exit velo of 87 mph.

9/15/13: 5-foot-11, 165 pound sophomore was 69 mph across the infield.  Got to most balls, and fields it cleanly, however fields it too deep at times.  At the plate starts open with his hands high.  Inward turn with his front leg.  Good balance throughout the swing.  Barreled up a lot of baseball with some projectable pop.  On the mound his delivery is slow with a short stride and lands open.  Throws over the top with average arm speed.  Delivery is repeatable.  Fastball tops out at 74 mph. 

2/23/13: Has long limbs and has yet to fill out as a freshman. Body suggests he will fill out soon and may not be done growing. Ryan works at a slow tempo with a slight pause at the top of his delivery and a slight head snap. Fastball was 72-74 from a high ¾ slot. Breaking ball broke early at 64 and lacked arm speed. Changeup showed good depth at 68-69. Ruthrauff is a follow in the 2016 class.
