2017 Spring Scout Blog:
Uncommitted senior gave the Panthers their best at bats, working a single and a walk.  Continues to impress with bat speed and juice in the box.  Big, smooth load.  Shortens up with two strikes.  Barrel stays in the zone.  Uphill path.  Defensively, Thurman made a handful of difficult plays in both gaps.  Quick feet, good routes to ball.

The 6-foot, 200 pound unsigned senior went 2-2 with two walks and two home runs on line drives to left field.  Thurman hit the only two mistakes out of the park, as he was pitched around all game.  Starts with an open, athletic setup in the box.  Featuring a hanging leg kick, he gets the foot down on time after hands load back.  Creates an uphill path with a fast barrel.  Explosive lower half.  Has legitimate pull side pop.  Average balance.  Laid off several pitches out of the zone.

4/9/15 GAME NOTES:
A recent Louisville commit, Thurman possesses a strong, athletic frame.  Has good speed on the bases. Offensively, shows good balance throughout his swing with quick bat speed.  Showed gap power with some barrel whip.  Moves well in the field, average arm strength.  Serves as North Central's lead-off hitter.

2/22/15:
6-foot, 200 pound sophomore possesses a strong, athletic frame with a strong lower half.  Possesses athletic actions with an accurate arm at 82 mph.  Hits from an athletic setup showing excellent balance throughout the swing.  Possesses quick bat speed producing present power. Hands are quick to the baseball and consistently barrels up the all.  Recorded a high exit velocity of 85 mph.  Possesses pro tools at the plate.   Ran a 6.94-60.

FUTURE GAMES: Roy has a strong frame at 6 feet, 185 pounds. He is projectable with athleticism and good speed (6.89 60). He starts with a balanced approach at the plate with a smooth load and has good rhythm throughout the swing. He shows very good bat speed and power for his age. His hands are quick and he needs to continue to add arm strength in the outfield, but he projects to be a high follow for not only college recruiters but also scouts.

6/25/14:
6 foot,  190 pounds, 4.25-H-1st from the right side. Athletic, young player. Long ¾ arm thrower with average strength and occasionally on target. Average hands, feet and ball transfer. Hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, explosive bat speed with a slight upper cut.  Pull hitter.

2/22/14:
6-foot, 180 pound projectable freshman with strong frame and athleticism. Ran a 6.89 60 and was very impressive in the batting practice. Starts with a balanced approach with a smooth load.  Has good rhythm throughout the swing.   He shows plus bat speed and power for his age.  Hands are quick.  He’ll need to add arm strength as he matures, but he’ll be a high follow for college recruiters as well as scouts.
