10/19/14: 5-foot-11, 245 pound 1B possesses a big frame with strong lower half.  Moves well around the bag for his size.  Plays through the ball well.  Across the diamond was 72 mph.  At the plate starts in an athletic setup.  Short stride with a smooth load.  Possesses above average bat speed.  Gets to extension consistently.  Hard contact with power potential.  Registered an exit velo of 83 mph.  

10/19/13: 5-foot-11, 260 pound catcher shows some pull side power from the plate.  Overall strong hitter.  Approach is good with some bat speed.  Good balance throughout his swing.  Defensively was 71 mph from behind the plate.  Needs to improve mobility behind the plate. Registered a 2.11 pop time at the event. 

12-30-12: Gillespie is a 5-foot-11, 240-pound C/3B.  Top velocity from the crouch registered at 71 mph with pop times ranging from 2.15 - 2.25.  He reached a top velocity on throws across the infield of 72 mph.  At the plate, hits from a balanced setup with a short stride.  He showed a pull approach at the plate with some power potential.
