4/30/14 Game Notes: The 6-foot, 175 pound sophomore righty went 6 1/3 innings last night against No. 6 Carmel. Reed's fastball consistently sat 84 in the first inning, touching 85 and 87 once. Throughout the game his fastball sat 82-84, more 84 than anything, touching 85 a couple of more times. He throws an 80-81 mph 2-seamer for a strike with good movement. Keeps his 76-79 mph changeup down in the zone. Located his pitches well. Reed now pitches with a quicker tempo than when we saw him last summer. Has a short arm action and has above average arm speed. He's a young sophomore, not turning 16 until late August.
4/9/15 GAME NOTES: A 6-foot, 185 pound right-handed pitcher, committed to Indiana. Reed closed out the 14-12 win last night, sitting 86-88 with his fastball, filling up the zone. Struck out the last hitter looking on an 88 mph fastball on the outside corner.
6/24/13: Reed displays a projectable arm on the mound. His fastball sat 81-83 mph at the Top Prospect Games. Arm is loose and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Slow tempo with his delivery, with good rhythm. Downward plane. Breaking ball shows good depth. High ceiling for the 2016.
