4/30/14 Game Notes: Over the years Jake has shown incredible improvement in his ability to catch, throw and hit. Jake has a really strong athletic body. At 6’0/195 he will be able to grind out a long season behind the plate. His feet are much improved as his pop time is now 2.0 and he isn’t afraid to use it as he threw behind a runner at second tonight for a big out in the 6^th inning in Southwoods narrow 12-11 victory over Whitko. At the plate Jake hits out of a wide, crotched stance with his hands high. He gets extension through the ball at contact allowing him to hit for power as he hit is 3^rd homerun of the season tonight. Jake is one of the top 2015 receivers is NE Indiana. 

10/19/13: 6-foot, 185 pound catcher uses a narrow setup with quick feet behind the plate.  Arm speed is good.  Needs to improve foot work.  Receiving skills are average, and shows good flexibility.  Pop times were 2.07-2.08.  Offensively, uses a balanced set up with a leg kick for timing.  Swing path is long with a flat bat.  Lower half is inconsistent.
