5/9/15 GAME NOTES; Works fast, throws strikes and mixes speeds. The 6 foot tall, 180 pound right hander has complete control of the game from the mound. He has a fast easy ¾ arm delivery. His fast ball is 81-83 mph with downhill plain and run and he throws it with ease to both sides of the plate. His curveball is 67-68 with sweeping break and in the strike zone. Today vs FW Snider he kept hitters off balance and forced ground balls and fly balls while striking out 7 in the Spartan 9-2 victory in game two at Homestead. CLICK HEREfor video
12/7/14: 6-foot, 185 pound righty pitches from a low ¾ slot with a long, loose action. Average arm speed. Easy effort and smooth rhythm throughout the delivery. Good direction to the plate and lands square. Fastball sat 80-83 with slight movement. 10/4 breaking ball shows gradual movement at 63-65 but has the tendency to slow his arm down. Changeup was thrown with near fastball arm speed at 72-73.
6-foot, 185 pound Junior 3B ran a 7.57-60. In the field showcased a clean exchange with some arm strength across the diamond at 82 mph. Average hands and feet. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride. Hands drop during the load. Slap type hitter. Possesses stiffness throughout the swing. Registered an exit velo of 76 mph.
2/18/13 5-foot-11, 150 pound freshman,Waugh shows a body size you like for a 2016. Still physically developing, Waugh shows good movement around the bag at fist. At the plate, Waugh hits from a more upright stance and just lacks the hand speed that will develop with maturity. The plane works and he gets to extension. The lower half will develop as he grows as well. On the mound Waugh was 69-71 with his fastball.
