2017 Spring Scout Blog:  The 6-foot-5, 200 pound two-way athlete made a velocity jump since the fall.  Ultra athletic, projectable frame, sat 86-89, touching 90 once in the first 3 innings of work.  With several 89's throughout, velocity held pretty well into the 4th inning sitting 84-87.  Ability to climb the ladder for and stretch the plate to draw bad swings.  Breaking ball has gradual, early break with 11/5 shape.  Curveball sat 68-72.  Arm action is down and up quick with a slight stab on separation.  High, firm front side. Hips are quick, front leg lands heel-toe.  Finishes athletically.  Frame and athleticism are easy to like, especially with the recent velocity increase.  Was last seen at low to mid-80's in the summer.  Xavier signee.

2/22/15:
6-foot-3, 170 pound sophomore possesses a lanky, athletic frame.  Showcased fluid defensive actions with some twitch.  Arm action was long and loose from an over the top slot.  Up to 80 mph with some carry and accuracy.  Ran a 7.19-60.  At the plate hits from both sides of the plate.  From both sides starts open, stride is short.  Dives to the ball during the stride.  Tendency to over rotate the lower half.  Possesses some bat speed with a long path.  Line drive hitter. Mirrored swing from both sides.

PITCHING: 6-foot-3, 170 pound righty with long limbs.  Pitches predominately out of the stretch.  Comes at hitters from an over the top slot with good arm speed.  Long, loose arm action.  Stays in line to the plate, landing square.  Fastball was 75-77 with slight cut action.  Changeup sat 69-70 with run and sink.  Breaking ball has a 12/6 break with sharp action and depth, kept down in the zone.  Projects well.

8/19/19: Battled hamstring problems during his time in the Cape this summer, yet still managed to post a .407/.435/.525 slash in 62 plate appearances. Tall and athletic at 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Major is an above average runner and defender when healthy. Previously a two-way talent as a freshman when he pitched in the low 90s, he no longer pitches or shows that type of arm strength; below average on this look. Showed average raw power during batting practice, which translated into seven doubles, no home runs during game action. Also popped seven homers and 15 doubles (.207 ISO) last spring. With greater maturity and a strong junior season for the Musketeers, expect Major to receive mid-Day Two consideration this June. (Seifert)
