5/31/14 - Currently ranked No. 112 in Illinois’ 2014 class.  Currently one of the top seniors in the state still unsigned.  6-foot-4, 210-pound frame shows power potential down the line.  Impressive frame, with room to add more weight down the road.  For the year hit .350,  with four home runs, and ten doubles.  Strikeouts can creep up at times, as Speaker hits from the left side in a spread out stance, with an aggressive swing.  He doesn’t get cheated, and led off the game with a line drive shot single to right off a 90 mph Latz offering.  His swing can get a little long as his final two at bats were strikeouts, one on 89 up in the zone, the other on 89 buried inside underneath his hands.  Defensively shows adequate foot speed to stay at an outfield corner (7.37 60 runner at a past event), shows below average arm strength, and may be better suited at first base thanks to size.  Has shown soft hands fielding at first in pre-game, but plays in the outfield due to South Suburban-bound Dan Brokop playing first.

4/1/14 - Ranked No. 149 in the state. Uncommited senior impressed with 6-foot-4 size from the left side of the plate. Lined a single up the middle in first at bat getting hands extended. Got tied up inside on an inside fastball for a strikeout. Hits from a tall open stance, getting back to square, with relaxed hands.  Exhibited an accurate and solid arm in pregame from left field.

7.25.12 Speaker is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed hitting outfielder who showcased a strong swing with pull side power. Speaker showcased bat speed and barrel whip through the zone. He exhibited a solid plate approach, spraying line drives to all fields. Defensively, Speaker exhibited good feet at first base and an accurate arm across the infield (73 mph). From the outfield, Speaker also exhibited an accurate and solid arm topping at 78 mph.
