8/9/13 - 5-foot-9, 186-pound catcher/infielder.  As a catcher he had a short arm, throwing from an over-the-top slot, with average arm strength, throwing down to second at 74 mph. His pop times ranged from 2.07-2.22 with solid accuracy. Offensively, he had a narrow and balanced setup with a toe tap load and launch trigger.  He showcased average bat speed with an exit velocity of 83 mph off a tee. During game action he showed solid strike zone discipline by drawing a couple of walks.

Giacchino is an athletically built 5-foot-9, 175-pound catcher. He stays in a low, athletic position, and showed an accurate arm with throws on base and pop times of 1.99 and 2.1. His velocity from the crouch was 72 mph. During bullpen sessions, Giacchino received with a firm wrist and soft hands, and the ability to block.  At the plate, he exhibited a quiet swing and balance throughout. His path to the ball was short, and he showed the ability to find the barrel.
