6/5/14 - Unsigned senior currently ranked No. 160 in Illinois’ 2014 class.  5-foot-10, 175 pound frame lacks physicality, but room to fill out.  Forms solid double play combination up the middle with Parola.  Solid infield actions with arm strength and good carry turning double play.  Has shown 80-82 mph velocity off the mound, so above average arm strength for a second baseman.  Started momentum killing 4-6-3 double play to kill Glenbrook South rally in the fifth.  Hits from a balanced set up with minimal stride.  Short to the ball with high finish, good bat speed for slight frame.  Showed up the middle approach, with good plate coverage, singled on a slider off the plate into left field.  Also singled sharply to right field.

6.13.13 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound middle infielder. Defensively showed above average action, fluid defender, feet work well. Arm plays athletically, showed accuracy through his target, 79 mph across the diamond. One of the strongest rounds of the event. Offensively hits from a wide setup, minimal stride. Lower half works, excellent balance through finish. Gap to gap type hitter, middle of the field approach.

2/17/13 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound left handed hitting two way player. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm slot, fastball sits 80-82 mph, lacks movement. Curveball flashes sharp action, works on a 12/6 plane, 70-71 mph. Changeup shows feel as well, showed control at the bottom of the zone, 71-73 mph. Defensively shows soft hands and some athleticism, arm plays at 79 mph across the diamond. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, narrow stance. Solid swing, flashes gap pop at times, inconsistent timing.
1/22/12 Metz is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound middle infielder who performed well in all facets of the game.  At the plate, Metz has an easy, loose swing with an active lower half.  He takes a short, level swing with good bat speed as he showed he could hit the ball hard to all fields.  Defensively, Metz showcased his athleticism with solid footwork and actions up the middle. He was clocked at 76 mph across the infield.  Metz also impressed on the mound, showing feel for three pitches and good mound presence.  Throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot, Metz has a short back arm action and easy effort in his delivery.  He has three pitches: a fastball that topped out at 80 mph, a tight curveball (69-70 mph), and a 72-74 mph changeup.
