2/17/14 - 5-foot-11, 160-pound lanky, multi-positional player who moves athletically. On the infield he showed soft hands, fluid footwork, clean and quick exchanges, and plays through the ball athletically. Arm action is loose and athletic from a high ¾ slot at 81 mph with carry and accuracy. From the outfield his arm works long and loose from the same slot, at 85 mph with strong carry and accuracy. Ran a 7.4 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced setup with a toe tap load and launch sequence. Swing is slightly uphill with solid bat speed. Exit velocity was 79 mph off a tee.
8-1-2018: 6’0/185 pounds with an athletic, muscular frame. Robinson stood out among the crowd with his overall athleticism, size and fluid actions at shortstop. Plays light on his feet with body control while moving laterally. Arm action is clean and works from different slots based on the type of throw. Hands and feet work well together with good tempo. At the plate he’s having a breakout summer for the Blue Sox, slashing .353/.477/.506 and sporting a quality 19:13 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Wide set-up in the box with good balance. Level swing that stays in the zone and gives him the chance to make contact even if his timing is off. Offensively he’ll be more of a threat to make contact and get on-base more than beat you with his power. Went undrafted after his junior year at Murray State but if he can keep up this pace offensively as a senior he should give himself a chance to keep his career going after college. (D Jurik)
