6.18.13 Geppert is a lanky 6-foot-1, 160 two-way player who showed some ability both on the mound and at the plate. On the mound, Geppert showed that while he will not beat hitters with an overpowering fastball, he is very effective in changing speeds and throwing all of his pitches for strikes on both sides of the plate to create a lot of ground ball outs. His heavy fastball was kept down in the zone and topped at 77-mph with late run and sink action. He creates a good down hill angle on his fastball. Geppert’s breaking ball had 11-to-5 shape with late break and was thrown with near fastball arm speed and his change up showed arm side run and some depth. Geppert has very good mound presence and knows how to pitch. In the outfield, Geppert moves well to the ball and showed some arm speed on his throws, with a top throw of 84 mph. At the plate, the left handed hitting Geppert displays a level, controlled swing with good use of his hands. His swing was a bit long at times but still managed to barrel up the ball and hit it to the gaps.

4/26/13 - Lanky 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Left-handed hitter, right-handed pitcher. Strike-thrower, fastball between 76-78, top at 79, from high-3/4 slot. Slows arm action down on secondary pitches; curveball at 65-67, changeup at 70. Is 4-1 on season. Hits from wide setup, no stride, no load. Delivered two-run opposite-field double in second inning. Some length in swing.

Geppert is a wiry 6-foot-1, 150-pound player who showed some ability and could become a top level Class of 2015 player as he continues to mature. On the mound, Geppard showed good hand speed with a loose arm coming from a ¾ arm slot with good rhythm. His fastball sat 76-77, topping at 78 and was consistently over the plate. He also flashed a 64-66 mph late moving breaking ball with 11-to-5 shape with fastball arm speed and a 69-72 mph change up that had arm side movement and was kept down in the zone. In the outfield, Geppert got to the ball quickly and had a quick transfer and quick arm action, getting the ball out of his hand quickly with his top throw at 80 mph. Offensively, the left handed hitter was able to square up the ball with a level swing, using both gaps. He ran a 7.29 60.
