1/12/14 - Athletic build with length, 6-foot-4, 210-pound left handed hitting catcher. Defensively works out of the crouch with a clean exchange, 67 mph arm out of the crouch, posted 2.07-2.15 pop times. Offensively hits from a tall setup, slightly open stance, longer path, occasional pull side pop. On the mound fastball is mostly straight, 73-77 mph. Curveball is flat, 60-62 mph, Changeup featured sink, 63-68 mph.

6.13.13 - Physically developed left handed hitting catcher, mature build, 6-foot-4, 210-pounds. Hits from the left side, tall, open stance, smooth load, short stride approach. Pull hitter, shows pull side pop, 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed soft hands. Arm action is long, over the top slot, showed accuracy, 71 mph from the crouch, long transfer. 2.11-2.19 pop time.

5/1/13 - Currently ranked No. 98 in Illinois’ 2014 class. 6-foot-4, 210-pound left-handed hitting catcher. Showed extremely well in game against St. Joseph, going 3-for-3 with a double over first-base bag, a run-scoring single in the fifth and a walk. Kubek also threw out two runners, including an athletic play in which he blocked a ball, popped up and gunned a runner at third base to end a sixth-inning rally. Also threw out a runner in the first inning with a pop time of 2.11. Received well in game with solid footwork. With his size, may project as first baseman at next level.

2/17/13 - Large frame, 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, average build, left handed hitting catcher. Offensively shows pop to his pull side. Hits from the left side, open stance, tall stance, stride dives back to plate. Pull side approach, hits off back side, pull power hitter, 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively recorded pop times from 2.18-2.25, long arm action, long release, receives cleanly, shows soft hands.

10/7/12 - Kubek is a strong left handed hitting catcher that showed good power potential. At 6-foot-4, 190-pounds Kubek has an above average body and strength. At the plate he showed as a pull hitting left handed hitter with pop. Defensively, Kubek showed well throwing pop times of 2.02-2.18, while exhibiting loose athletic actions.

1/22/12 Kubek is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher who possesses pull-side power potential.  He has a level bat path and an economical approach to the baseball. Kubek utilized his strong lower half to drive the ball with authority.  Defensively, Kubek had pop times of 2.39, 2.39, and 2.36 and was clocked at 68 mph from the crouch.
