1st Team All State: The Upstate Eight Conference Player of the Year, Wright led the North Stars to a 32-5 record with his bat and his arm. Perhaps the best defensive first baseman in the state of Illinois, possessing middle infield like actions and athleticism, Wright did it all for St. Charles North. The southpaw went 9-0 on the mound with a 0.50 ERA, 61 strikeouts in 56 innings pitched, allowing just 22 hits and 11 walks, good for a miniscule 0.589 WHIP. In the process Wright became St. Charles North’s all-time winningest pitcher, with 21 career victories. At the plate he hit .463 with 17 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 26 RBI, and 33 runs scored, good for a 1.278 OPS.

Top-level hands and feet around bag; knows how to play the position. Performs with unquantifiable bounce in step, plays well on the move. Ran a 6.88 60 and recorded 92 mph exit velocity. Left-handed hitter, tall, slightly open setup, relaxed plate approach. Loose hands, quiet mechanics, advanced rhythm, bat speed present, gap-to-gap approach. Overall, high-IQ player who knows how to play the game.

Wright also impressed at first base, displaying quick feet and great hands around the bag. Offensively, the 5-foot-11, 150-pounder showcased a well-balanced swing with solid bat speed and a strong lower half.
