10/14/12 - Laird is a 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed pitcher. A strike-thrower, Laird filled up the strike zone with his 78-79 mph fastball, with some sink down in the zone. Laird remained balanced and tall throughout, and repeated well. He’s short on the backside, and showed some deception in his delivery. Laird also showed a 64-67 mph curveball which he threw for strikes.

Laird is a lean 6-foot-1, 165-pound lefty. On the mound, Laird operated from a high ¾ arm slot with a fastball that sat at 75-77 mph. Laird located all pitches down in the zone and showed a feel for three pitches. The left-hander came from a high � arm slot with a smooth arm action and was consistently throwing quality strikes down in the zone. Laird was able to throw his fastball which exhibited some run and his changeup also showed well with downward action.
