7/9/14 - 6-foot-5, 200-pound lanky, athletic, and projectable right-handed hitting first baseman impressed with power potential at the plate and soft hands at first base.  Hits from a tall, slightly close setup, with a short stride, smooth hand load, producing line drives and power to his pull side with 82 mph exit velocity.  Barrel shows whip through the zone and creates some lift.  Defensively, threw 72 mph across the infield from short, ¾ arm action.  Ran a 7.78 60 and 5.26 from home to first.

6.19.13 - The tall, lanky first-baseman showed some pop in his bat recording an 84 mph exit velocity.  Sets up at the plate in a balanced stance using a short stride.  Uphill bat path creating lift on the ball with pull tendencies.  Defensively throws from a high ¾ arm slot and 70 mph across the diamond.  Ran an 8.08 60 at the showcase. 

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Zimmer has a projectable frame and should translate well at the next level. Defensively, he played through the ball well thanks to soft hands and sound footwork, and showed off an accurate arm.  Zimmer also impressed at the plate with good bat speed and barrel whip through the zone. The ball jumped off his bat with backspin carry. Zimmer has the potential to be a top hitter in the Class of 2015.
