8-15-2018: Six-foot-four, 235 pounds. Massive frame with wide, muscular build. Big league body. Former prep first baseman who has transitioned to corner outfield. Lott had an All-Star caliber summer and finally showed flashes of tapping into his raw power. His six home runs for Hyannis surpassed his combined HR total from his freshman and sophomore seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette. The low walk, high strikeout rate he posted is a bit concerning. It will be important for those numbers to improve in the spring. With his size, he’s always going to be a below average runner, which puts more pressure on his bat and power production. Arm strength is average at best, giving him limited defensive value if he sticks in the outfield. That being said, there are few players out there who can match Lott’s physical presence and power potential. (D Jurik)
