8/5/15 - Incoming sophomore who stands at 6 foot, 160 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body with some strength. Loose and athletic actions. At the plate he gets a small separation for his load and his bat gets into a good angle to give him extra pop. Nice swing plane, great extension, and uses his lower half well. In the field Khalib has quick, light, and athletic feet with good range. Short, loose ¾ arm action and can throw from all angles with plenty arm to stay at SS. Bayona threw 79 mph across the diamond and produced a 72 mph exit bat velocity. Will improve with strength and maturity and will definitely be able to play at the next level.
