Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A projectable 6-foot, 170 pound. Defensively, is upright and hands work. There is some athleticism and could work with more rhythm through the ball. Is a solid defender who you culd see continuing to grow and sliding to third base. Stands out offensively where he is strong with a simple swing that produced a 90 mph exit velocity. Path is uphill and looks to lift and pull the ball. There is bat speed and strength and overall simple swing that should continue to play at a high level. On the mound, it is simple and repeatable, could benefit from more extension, but worked at 75-76 mph.
1/23/19 - Strong, projectable 6-foot, 170 pound infielder. Ran a 7.43 60 yard dash. Defensively, there is some stiffness, overall has sound defensive actions and topped out at 76 mph. Offensively, he has a short stride and a simple swing. There is some steepness, but has a feel for the barrel and had line drives from gap to gap in BP with an exit velocity of 88 mph. There is offensive upside as he continues to mature with the strong frame and strength beginning to translate offensively.
06/23/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 162 pounds with a lean, athletic frame. Still room to fill out. Offensively, he starts from a wide base and has a small leg kick for his load. Some feel for the barrel with a level to slight uphill finish on his swing, creating loft and driving the ball into the outfield. At times he can be out on his front foot, but when he stays back and utilizes his lower half, he was able to drive the ball with intent into the gaps. Registered an exit velocity of 80 mph in the cage. As Haddix adds to his frame, he should see a jump in gap-to-gap power. In the field there is some choppiness in his step, but he fields the ball under control and makes the plays. Throws to the bag were accurate and topped out at 70 mph. Clocked in at 7.56 secs for his 60 yard dash time.
4/1/17- The right handed hitter has a small leg kick trigger. He showed a feel for the barrel, working the ball gap-to-gap. He can get long at times, but will continue to improve as he grows and gains game reps. Defensively, he shows sound hands. On the mound he showed an over the top arm action and worked a fastball from 70-73, curveball from 57-60 and changeup from 60-61.
08/24/16- Took a solid round of batting practice where he consistently made contact and hit line drives all over the field. Balanced and comfortable in the box. Showed a good bat path with loose hands.
