Bryant Recruit: First event for Titus, headed to Bryant University next year, had a very impressive workout. The frame is athletic, very powerful, hands and legs are very strong. Hits from the right side, the setup is balanced feet are a bit wider than shoulder width and front foot is slightly open. Hands are quiet and set just above his shoulders, in a good starting position. For timing, uses a good leg kick, the path is level across the chest with a high finish. Punished the ball to the pull gap, second round drove the ball well to opposite gap. The tee exit velocity was 99 mph. In field, his prep steps are good gets around the ball well and gets momentum moving towards his target. Arm across the diamond was at 90 mph, arm is very strong has some effort to it, could cut back a bit to get more flow, but it's plenty good enough. Ran 7.03 60-yard dash, might be a tick better than that. Projects out for me as a power hitting third baseman at the next level. Gaining interest from the pro level, will be interesting to watch him this spring.
Jimmy Titus, East Catholic HS (Bryant), a legitimate 2-way guy, has a good sinker and frisbee slider guy off the bump. At the plate hits from the right side, balanced with an even stance, drives the ball well to opposite field. At SS can really pick it, the catch and gather are very smooth and keeps his feet moving towards the target. I like the bat a ton.
