Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
5-foot-11, 165-pound, wiry strong, athletic frame. Movements and actions are smooth, hands and wrists have strength to them. A right-handed hitting middle infielder, shows enough range to play both sides of the bag, projecting to be an offensive second baseman at the next level. At the plate, feet are even, slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are held at shoulders, quiet with a titled setup. The lower half is under control, uses a small leg kick to get loaded, gains ground, with a strong backside. The swing is level to up, stays behind the baseball on contact, creates backspin, gap to gap approach. Took a solid batting practice with good at bats in game play. The exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, runs well, ran a 7.03. Defensively, moves very well to both sides, is quick off the blocks. The glove is solid, soft on the catch out front, short, quick transfer to throwing arm. Showed flow and actions on the starts and feeds, can spin it from both sides. The arm will play better from the second base side, clocked at 73 mph. Tough, competes at a high level, will be a good one at the next level.
