Uconn Commit: 6-feet, 175 pounds, right-handed pitcher with an athletic frame with long arms and legs and has plenty of room for future development. Delivery has high leg kick, hands work low to high with leg kick at good tempo, arm is quick, whip like action from low ¾ arm slot. Fastball is electric at 85-87 mph, ability to move to both sides of plate with arm side run and sinking action. The slider has saucer like break moving away from right handed hitters at 69-71 mph. The change up is firm with slight downward movement at 76-80 mph. Works all 3 pitches down in the zone at the knees of hitters, fastball jumps, slider could become power out pitch with more development. Command can be an issue but makes up for it with pure stuff.
7/30/15 Low ¾ right-hander who sits in the low 80’s with run and sink to his fastball. The arm works and the frame is slight as of now. The breaking ball is frisbee style and in the low 70’s, it has tilt and depth to it. The changeup is not in play now but he is working towards using it in the game. The delivery is simple and on-line, he could use a stronger front side as occasionally his arm gets away from him.Handled the running game well and attacked hitters in his first two innings. Should warrant of attention as he matures these next couple seasons.
6/30/15 Good looking right-handed pitcher, who throws from a slightly lower than ¾ slot. Fastball has bore and run, getting up to 84 mph. Used both sides of the plate as well. The breaking pitch is frisbee like and got to 70 mph. The shape and for are excellent. The spin will be an out pitch at the next level. Changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is simple and on time. He gets the ball out front and it jumps out of his hand. High level prospect.
