5-foot-5, 149-pound, small athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, actions and movements are loose, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, stance is simple, it's slightly open, hands are loose, they work freely through zone. The separation is good, hands get back into a good hitting position, stride is under control, gains ground. The swing is level to up, the tee exit velocity 75 mph. The approach is more middle to opposite, keeps his hands inside the baseball well. Defensively, plays behind the plate, just started there this year and continues to improve. The setup is balanced, wider than shoulder width and sits comfortable on the flats of his feet. The transfer is clean, glove comes right across his face, fairly quick and smooth. The feet work well, right foot replaces left foot, needs to get quicker, but good footwork. The arm is short and clean, clocked at 63 from the chute.
5-foot-6, 120-pound small young frame, plenty of room and time to fill out. A right-handed hitting catcher, the stance is even, balanced, hands are loose just off his shoulder. The lower half is under control, stride is minimal, weight transfers from the back to front and he is balanced throughout. The swing path is down through contact and finishes with one hand. The tee exit velocity was 70 mph, with a ton more in there. Behind the plate, the setup is balanced, sits on the flats of his feet. The hands are soft, could get behind the ball more, he reaches at times. The transfer, is quick across his chest and footwork is direct, no wasted movement. The arm action is short, comes out of a natural ¾ slot, gets extension out front. Clocked at 62 mph, strength is needed.
