7/18/17

5-foot-9, 145-pound, thin, average athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out, neck is long, shoulders are sloped. The actions and movements are loose and work freely. A right-handed hitter, the approach is simple, balanced throughout. The feet are even, hands are loose at shoulder height, with the bat starting in a relaxed flat position. The swing is level across his chest, the lower half is under control, could get more juice from the backside. The hands stay inside the baseball, looks to drive the baseball with a middle to opposite approach. Finishes the swing off with two hands, tee exit was clocked at 80 mph. During game play had good swings, made hard contact, all day, clocked at 4.61 down the line. Defensively, arm works out of a lower slot, clocked at 68 mph, had good touch on the throws. The hands are soft, works from the ground up, showed an easy transfer, with no wasted movement, needs to continue to keep feet moving after throw. Showed a clean pro move to finish off his defensive workout. Off the mound, has a simple, balanced delivery, hands start and stay in the midsection, leg lift is easy, stays over the rubber, separation is on time, gets squared up to the plate and pounded the zone with strikes. The arm action is a tick longer on the back side, works out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 70-71 mph. The breaking ball showed, bigger top to bottom break to it, clocked at 63-65. Strength and a regimented throwing program, will aid in his development.

Home- First: 4.61

Exit Velocity: 80 mph

Arm Velocity: 68 mph

5-foot-9, 145-pound thin athletic frame, neck is long, shoulders are sloped and the arms are long, has plenty of room to fill out. On the mound, this right hander was impressive, showed a good breaking ball that had good tilt wasn’t thrown overly hard, but the spin and the ability throw it for strikes, clocked in the low-60’s. The delivery is simple, works out of the stretch position, slightly sits in it, could stay stronger on the back side. The fastball was 70-71 mph, the arm action is long and clean and gets good sink to arm side, times to plate are quick at 1.16. Showed a changeup at 63 mph, had some fade to arm side. Interesting guy off the mound. Offensively, hits from the right side, is even and balanced. The hands are held above shoulders, has a little arm bar to ball, could be a little shorter to ball, should get better with strength. The path is level, cuts the finish off, could finish higher. The tee exit velocity was 81 mph, has some whip out front. Defensively, fields ball out front, keeps his feet moving throughout, could get off the blocks a little quicker. The arm was clocked at 68 mph, arm action is longer and comes out of a lower slot. Strength is a must and a regimented throwing program, velocity should climb.
