5-foot-10, 200-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  Ran a 4.39 down the line on his dig to first base, moves well for a catcher. Threw 78 mph down to second base during the defensive portion of the workout. The feet work during the transfer, and he has arm strength. The pop time is 2.03. The receiving needs to continue to soften, securing the catch is trending up. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot steps into the pitch. The path is flat and strong through the ball. Plus strength in the hands and he hammers the ball. Potential to hit with power down the road. Swung the bat well in the game.

5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher who showed well at the event.  Threw 71 mph from behind the dish, the transfer is clean. The footwork can continue to improve as he matures. The receiving is solid, and the frame projects for the position. Pop time of 2.08 at the event, in cold temps.  Threw 75 mph during the infield portion of the workout. The arm is clean and the prep steps need to be smoothed out. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 86 mph. The stance is even, upright in posture. The path is flat, the hands have life. The shift in weight gets to the front foot too soon, and he uses a 1-handed finish after contact. The hands are strong with the barrel. Ran a 7.38 sixty at the event.

5-foot-10, 170-pound, thick, strong athletic frame. A right-handed hitting catcher. At the plate, the stance is simple, feet are even, is balanced keeps his head behind the barrel on contact. The hands are loose, for timing uses a minimal controlled stride, has coil to upper body for his trigger. The swing is down to level to a high one handed finish. The barrel stays in the zone a long time, spraying the baseball back up the middle. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 87 mph and ran a 7.32 sixty yard dash. Defensively, had a pop time of 2.19-2.25, arm works from his ear, clocked at 72 mph. The frontside could close up a tick more, should help with arm strength and decreasing the poptime. The setup of feet could become more even and relaxed, will aid in the receiving part of his game.

5-foot-9, 190 pounds, thick lower half, durable catcher frame. Posted pop times between 1.97-2.16. Has the tools for a plus defensive package. Feet are wide, leans forward in his crouch, fluid transfer from glove to throw. Throws from his ear at a higher slot, clocked at 70 MPH. His footwork will improve as he continues refining his craft. At the plate, Preston collected a single during the game. He works from a slightly upright, balanced stance pre-pitch before readying to hit, where he uses legs to generate pop. Hands work well, getting the bat on the ball with present gap-to-gap power. Preston has a few interesting tools, and as he develops further and continues learning to harness them, has the potential to make some noise.

5-foot-9, 170-pound, strong, thick, athletic frame. A well proportioned athlete, hands and wrists have strength to them. Invited and committed to the 2017 Future games, one of the better catchers in the class of 2019. A right-handed hitting catcher, at the plate the stance is simple and balanced throughout, the feet are shoulder width apart, slightly open. The hands are relaxed, set at shoulder height. For timing, uses a small controlled leg kick, gains ground with a small stride, hands get back, could have more separation from the body in his pre pitch load. The swing is down to contact, very short to the ball and long after. The approach is gap to gap, with gap power at the moment. Both rounds of batting practice were solid, squared balls up one after another. Defensively is a solid target to throw to, hands are strong when receiving, centers the baseball and works extremely hard on the dirt balls. The feet gain ground on transfer, gets glove to throwing hand quickly. Loses leverage, leans forward and becomes unbalanced, need to keep gate underneath, upper half needs to stay stacked tall. The arm action is short, clean, throws from his ear, has strength to it, clocked at at 73 mph. The  pop times were at 2.01-2.13, throws were on the bag, has plenty of carry down to second. Big time follow, has a feel for catching, shows to be able to handle the bat.
