6 feet, 195 pounds, lean and athletic frame. Already mature in his physical development. His hands start high as a right handed pitcher throwing from a ¾ slot. His lead leg slight rotation back before sweeping forward from the third base side. Gibbs works a two pitch mix. His fastball has some late life to it, tailing in on right handed hitters. He worked between 77-79 mph with the heater and had the ability to work the pitch up and down in the zone. His curveball has a slurvy shape, though his best ones looked more like a traditional 11/5 break. Tightening the spin will help him be more consistent with his command of the pitch around the zone, inducing more swings-and-misses. Learning to control his breaking ball in strike zone more consistently will help the two pitch mix be as effective as possible. He will also need to develop a third offering at the next level. Overall, Gibbs shows promise and is worth keeping tabs on heading into the fall and winter.
