Uncommitted 2018 RHP of Dakota Ridge was equally effective throwing a 3-pitch mix. 6-foot-5, 165 pounds, did not play in 2017 to focus on basketball, and was the Eagles leading scorer this past season at 16.8 points a game. Talked into coming back out for baseball, in first start of the spring he went 5 innings striking out 9 (6 of first 9 batters as well). Fastball lived 79-81, touching 82 a couple of times, then in 5th lived more 76-77 due to still getting in pitching shape jus coming out of basketball, and not pitching for a year. Curve was 60-61 with 11/5 shape, and through a 64-65 mph change with some late arm side fade. Comes from a 3/4 arm angle. Wraps back, slight tilt in delivery that creates some deception. Lands inline to plate with good extension. Fastball plays faster then 82. Works at a quick pace. Will be a nice surprise for the Eagles pitching staff this spring
5-foot-9, 110-pound right-handed third base and right-handed pitcher. Tall and lanky for a freshman with plenty of room to continue to grow. Defensively, he shows good feet and a lanky arm produced 62 mph velocity across the diamond. As he grows his arm will get more whip which will increase velocity in the field and on the mound. As a pitcher Binder topped out at 66 and lived between 64-66. Good command of the strike zone with all pitches, curve 56 mph and change 59. At the plate he hits from a straight balanced upright stance. Exit velo was 65 mph at the showcase and he showed good ability to hit the ball the other way. Time will help Cole continue to grow and develop.
