Manning

10/22/15 - Stands at 6-foot-6, 185 pounds with a lean, athletic frame. He repeats his delivery well with a loose arm action, hint of a wrap and throws slightly across his body with a 3/4 arm slot, but he shows solid athletic ability. He filled the strike zone in limited action with a fastball that sat 91-93 with loads of life at the plate and control. His breaking ball showed 11/5 shape with tight spin and depth at 76-78. He worked fast and attacked hitters, getting numerous swings and misses with his fastball. Manning and cohorts combined to throw a no-hitter in a 7-0 win over Baseball Northwest. He allowed a walk in two innings while striking out six.

Manning won’t blow you away with stuff right now, but he has excellent upside thanks to his athleticism and relative freshness to pitching. Currently a Loyola Marymout recruit for basketball, Manning has a tall frame with long limbs and room to add strength at 6-foot-6, 185 pounds. His arm action is long and he throws across his body, but he’s able to throw strikes and induce weak contact with a heavy fastball. It sits in the low 90s with some run and sometimes cuts. He also mixes in a slider at 78-80. Across two appearances at the Area Code Games, Manning logged four innings and gave up a run on five hits and two walks while striking out three.

8/4/15 - Tall, lean frame at 6-foot-6, 185 pounds. He has a long arm action and pitches across his body, but he throws strikes and induces weak contact. In three innings, he allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out three and breaking at least two bats. His fastball ranged from 89-93 and he mixed in a 78-80 slider.
