West Virginia Prospects Have Opportunity to Shine in PA Top Prospect Games

The 2014 PA Top Prospect Games will take place on June 17 and 18 at the University of Pittsburgh. The event has become the premier event of the summer for aspiring college prospects statewide and continues to grow in popularity every year.

Austin NormanThis year's roster, which sports prospects from three states (PA, OH, WV), is shaping up to be the finest assembled for the event in its three year existence. With nearly two months remaining until the first pitch of the two day event nearly 75% of the roster spots have been filled. All middle infield positions have been filled and there is room for just six more pitchers. The remaining roster spots will be filled by catchers, corner infielders and outfielders while roster space remains.

OF Austin Norman (Fairmont Senior, WV) is the lone unsigned senior on the roster at this point. Norman was a West Virginia Class AA 2nd Team All-State selection in 2013 and has begun his senior season on a terror.

Last year's event was hosted by Bucknell University and drew 35 colleges to see six nine inning games over two days. To date, 40 prospects that participated in the 2013 PA Top Prospect Games have gone on to make their college commitments.

This year's roster is filled with highly ranked prospects from the class of 2015 and 2016 along with a handful of promising players from the Class of 2017.
