By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting
Uncommitted senior outfielder Eric Duran has impressed at the PA Top Prospect Games and the PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle already this summer. The physical 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitter has shown the ability to consistently drive both gaps with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Duran has an accurate arm with above average strength at 84 mph from the outfield. He has impressed with his foot speed as well, posting sub-7.0 60-yard dash times at both events with his 6.77 being among the top recorded at the PA Top Prospect Games.
Duran is one of two prospects on the event roster that attend Pine-Richland High School (PA), north of Pittsburgh. The Rams baseball program is strong every year, with Pirates second baseman Neil Walker being their most famous graduate to date.
