Unsigned Senior Spotlight: C/2B Travis Renner

By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting
Travis Renner is a talented athlete. He's not only a college recruit in baseball, but he also quarterbacks his University HS football team. To date the uncommitted senior has rushed for 367 yards and three touchdowns with a 5.6 yards per carry average. Renner has also completed 36 of 59 passes for 457 yards and six touchdowns. Solid numbers for a guy whose main focus is to play college baseball.
On September 29, Renner took a break from the gridiron to showcase his talents at Alderson Broaddus University, the final stop in the Fall College Prospect Program. Two months removed from his final baseball activities of the summer, Renner still impressed. He has a physical 6-foot, 185-pound frame and he has displayed defensive versatility at two separate PBR events. Renner is one of those rare players that has the ability to play nearly anywhere on the diamond.
He will showcase his abilities at the Elite Prospect Showcase on November 2 at B2B Baseball in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The event will provide talented prospects from Pennsylvania and West Virginia the opportunity to perform for college coaches prior to the early signing period in November.
