By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting
2016 catcher Jordan Kesner is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound catcher that showcased pop times of 2.25-2.33 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch at the Shenandoah Valley College Prospect Showcase recently. The junior barreled the baseball frequently in his round of batting practice from a wide stance with a high hands load. He generates barrel whip with a solid lower half turn creating a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Kesner showed some gap power potential and the ability to drive the baseball to the pull side of the field.
Kesner will need to continue to develop his catch and throw skills while improving his foot speed to continue the progression towards playing at the next level. He shows raw ability and the willingness to work to make necessary improvements.
