David DelawderDavid Delawder missed all but 10 games of the 2014 high school season after suffering an ankle injury that appeared to be season ending. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound two-way prospect worked hard and was able to return to the Hampshire HS lineup prior to the close of the season earning Honorable Mention All-State honors.

Delawder, currently ranked No. 8 in the WV Class of 2014, was the top prospect at the recent Shenandoah Valley College Prospect Showcase. The right-handed hitter showcased gap power out of a slightly open stance with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. He showed athletic actions and good feet at both 3B and SS with enough arm strength (80 mph) to remain on the left side of the infield at the next level. Delawder is still recovering from his spring ankle injury but showed a glimpse of his foot speed turning in a 7.19 60-yard dash.

The uncommitted senior, who will take on added responsibilities on the mound during his senior season, sat 82-83 out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Delawder also flashed a 68 mph curveball that had 12/6 action at times and a 74 mph changeup that was thrown with a slightly slower arm speed than his fastball.
