Revisiting the 2015 WV Top Prospect Games
January 8, 2016
By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting
Its been five months since the 2015 WV Top Prospect Games so we thought it might be time to take a look back and review what has taken place since that time and make some predictions about what lies on the horizon for some prospects in attendance.
Commitments
Nine prospects that participated have gone on to announce college commitments to date. All nine are current seniors and seven hail from West Virginia. Nitro's Matt Jewell got the party started in November when he signed his National Letter of Intent to play at Division I Wright State University. A total of seven of those that have made commitments will compete for Division II schools and will have the opportunity to see each other on a diamond at the next level. Ripley outfielder Cody Pittenger is the lone prospect to commit to a junior college. The left-handed hitter will be heading to North Carolina to become a member of the Surry CC baseball program.
