Marshall University Announces 2015 Early Signing Class

Marshall University recruiting coordinator Mike Donnelly announced today the signing of eight players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period this past week. Donnelly is in his ninth season with the Thundering Herd, serving as an assistant coach, working primarily with the infielders while coaching third base. Marshall comes off a 20-31 campaign in 2014, including a 10-19 Conference USA mark.
2015 Early Commits
RHP Gabe Gunter (Shelton State JC, AL)
RHP Jordan Johnston (Lockport Township East HS, IL)
+ Johnston is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound righty ranked No. 36 in Illinois. He sits in the mid-to-upper 80s and is coming off an injury that forced him to miss the spring of his senior season.
1B Tommy Lane (Hood JC, OR)
RHP Wade Martin (Wheelersburg HS, OH)
+ Martin is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound righty that sits 84-87. He is ranked No. 50 in Ohio.
LHP/OF Tyler Schmidt (Croswell-Lexington HS, MI)
+ Scmidt is a lanky 6-foot-2 lefty that sits in the mid-80s. He is ranked No. 3 in Michigan and has shown a 91 mph arm from the outfield while running a 6.76 60-yard dash.
LHP Josh Shapiro (Bexley HS, OH)
C/3B John Stewart III (Greenwich HS, NY)
