Prospects that have aspirations of playing college baseball will have two major opportunities to showcase their abilities on a big stage this coming summer with the announcement of two new events for West Virginia hopefuls.
pbr mid-atlantic border battle (july 18-20) - by invitation only
Details have been finalized for the inaugural PBR Mid-Atlantic Border Battle July 18-20 at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland. This event will bring together top prospects from a host of Mid-Atlantic States with five teams playing four games each over the span of three days. Prospects will represent their geographic region with some players from outlying states also being added to rosters. In addition to game play, prospects will also be evaluated in the 60-yard dash, at their defensive position and in a round of live batting practice during the course of the event.
Top prospects from West Virginia will join forces with players from Virginia to form one of the five teams scheduled to participate. Players that receive invitations to participate will represent the commonwealth as a member of Eastern Pennsylvania or Western Pennsylvania.
Harford Community College has just completed a major renovation to their baseball complex installing a new artificial surface. The Owls’ complex also sports a neighboring field with an artificial turf infield that will be utilized for evaluations during the course of the event.

west virginia top prospect games (august 8-9) - by invitation only
The inaugural West Virginia Top Prospect Games are set to take place on August 9 and 10 at the newly renovated Kennedy Center Field in Huntington, West Virginia. Among the upgrades to the facility is a state of the art artificial turf infield playing surface that will allow Marshall University the opportunity to utilize the facility for home non-conference games and practices.
The event will showcase top prospects in the Class of 2015, 2016 and 2017 from around the state as well as prospects from surrounding states. Players will run the 60-yard dash, take live batting practice on the field, showcase defensive abilities in an extended infield session, and play two nine inning games over the two days. Prospects will be divided among six teams with three games being played each day.
The Top Prospect Games will be an annual event that will allow the top prospects in the region to showcase their talents for college coaches in a combined showcase and game setting. Last year's Pennsylvania Top Prospect Games drew 35 colleges to scout the event. The event took place in June at Bucknell University and has seen 26 prospects announce college commitments since its conclusion.
