2009 0810 little league 04A 2009 trip to the Little League Southeastern Regional tournament was just a glimpse into the bright future for junior RHP J.T. Rogoszewski. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound righty and his Hurricane Little League teammates lost two one run games to Virginia and Tennessee keeping them from the ultimate prize of a trip to Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series.

Success at an early age does not always translate to continued success on the diamond as players' bodies mature, but Rogoszewski has made steady strides as a pitcher. He had an impressive sophomore campaign in 2013 going 6-2 with a sparkling 0.72 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 48.1 innings of work.

J.T. RogoszewskiCurrently ranked No. 3 in WV and No. 182 in the PBR combined Class of 2015 rankings, the righty sits 84-86 and can touch 88 mph. He commands a 77 mph slider/curveball and a 78 mph changeup. Rogoszewski has room to add to his athletic frame which should result in additional velocity in the coming years. He comes off a solid summer and fall highlighted by a standout performance in July at the 16U WWBA National Championship in Georgia. Pitching for the Dirtbags Gold, Rogoszewski spun a complete game no-hitter, with 11 strikeouts.

In discussing the recruiting process Rogoszewski stated, "I've visited North Carolina, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and plan on visiting Georgia Tech sometime this winter and may make a few others. I would like to make a decision sometime before next summer. I want to make sure I'm making the right decision for my future."

Rogoszewski and his Hurricane teammates were ranked No. 1 in the state for much of the 2013 season and on paper have an excellent chance of making a trip to Charleston for the state tournament this year. While a college decision is important and one of his priorities, according to Rogoszewski there is a singular goal on the field, "My one and only goal is to win a state championship."
