Games at George Washington HS

Game #1:  George Washington 10  Riverside 2

  • Jeff WongThe day started off as a pitcher's duel between Riverside junior Cameron Norris and Patriots sophomore right-hander Jeff Wong. Norris was a model of efficiency early in the game but ran into trouble in the 5th and the flood gates opened in the 6th. Wong struggled with control walking five hitters in the first three innings leading to both Riverside runs, but found his stride to go the distance with six strikeouts, no further walks and just three hits allowed. Wong supported his own cause going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. The Patriots banged out 12 hits, most of which came in their final two trips to the plate. Clayton Anderson (triple), Tanner Sorrells (HR) and Austin Griffith 2-for-4, double and three RBI were among the offensive stars for the Patriots.
