Ed Carter Tournament Preview

The Ed Carter Memorial Baseball Tournament begins today with six teams participating at George Washington High School and St. Albans High School. Prep Baseball Report will be tweeting live updates all day long @PBRWestVirginia.
Riverside and Hurricane will play in a three team pool at George Washington while Parkersburg South and Independence will play in a 2nd pool at St. Albans. Hurricane High School's turf field is ready in reserve in the event of rain.
St. Albans will host medal round games on Saturday with the fifth-place game scheduled for 11 a.m., the third-place game at 2 p.m. and the championship at 5 p.m.
The Hurricane Redskins enter as the tournament favorite with a 12-2 overall record and a 6-1 region mark. The Redskins have been led by a host of underclassmen including C Tate Brock, SS Trey Dawson and RHP/3B Austin Hensley (all pictured below).
