Hampshire HS got within one win of advancing to the state semifinals in Charleston in 2013 losing 4-3 in the regional finals to eventual Class AAA state champion Hedgesville. Along the way the Trojans scored 251 runs and hit .348 as a team.
Sophomore 3B David Delawder had much to do with the Trojans' offensive success. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect hit .407 out of the leadoff spot and scored 41 runs in 29 games. In addition to racking up 31 hits, Delawder also walked 16 times and was hit by pitch 12 times for an on base percentage of .543.
Delawder is currently ranked No. 6 in the WV Class of 2015 and will be showcasing his talents at the WV Open ID Showcase on July 16 at Alderson-Broaddus University.
