As snow still covers most of the baseball fields in Wisconsin, its hard to think that summer will be here before you know it. However, the summer showcase schedule in Wisconsin is now complete, and with six high level events packing the slate there will be a number of great opportunities to get seen by the Prep Baseball Report scouting staff as well as coaches across the country.
The summer kicks off with a bang as we roll out the Wisconsin Top Prospect Showcase on June 10th. This event is an invite only showcase which will feature only the top prospects in the state of Wisconsin from all graduating classes. We will scour the state this spring looking for only the best prospects in the state to invite to this event. Players can also request an invite by submitting their information to the Prep Baseball Report staff through our online submittal process here. This event will take place at the USA Youth Sports Complex in Appleton, WI on Monday June 10th. This is an ideal date and location as it is the day before the WIAA state tournament begins, just minutes down the road at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
On June 26th we will be holding the Midwest Future Games Tryout Showcase at Nash Park in Kenosha, WI. This is an open showcase for 2015 and 2016 graduates to give them the opportunity to get an invitation to one of the premier scouting events of the summer, the Midwest Future Games or the Top Prospect Games. The Midwest Future Games is the premier scouting event in the Midwest for 2015 graduates. Last year, 100 colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every DI power conference in the country. The Top Prospect Games is also an invite only event that will feature only the best 2016 graduates from Wisconsin and Illinois. A similar format to the Midwest Future Games, this is a two day event that will incorporate a showcase format along with a set of games against the best players from two states in the Class of 2016.
In July we will host a Prospect Identification Showcase in Eau Claire, WI on July 16th. This event will give the opportunity for players to showcase themselves in front of the PBR scouting staff that might not have so already. The event will take place in the Northwest part of the state at Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI. Carson Park is home to the Eau Claire Express of the Northern League and is a pristine facility that has been the “Home of Eau Claire Baseball” for 76 years. This event is open to all high school graduating classes.
July 23rd – 24th is the invite only Top Prospect Games which will take place at the all turf field at the University of Illinois – Chicago. Overlooking the Chicago skyline, this event will feature the top prospects in the Class of 2016. This is an invitation only event and invitations can be requested online or you can attend the June 26th event at Nash Park and show your skills to our PBR staff in hopes of an invite. The Top Prospect Games is a two day event in which players will play three games. On Tuesday, each team will have an extended pregame workout, along with live batting practice, followed by a game. On Wednesday, all teams will play two seven-inning games.
August brings us the premier scouting event of the summer, the Midwest Future Games Powered by Under Armour. From August 2-4 the best of the best 2015 graduates will convene at the brand new $10.3 million complex at Indiana University. Players will participate in a three day event that will feature extended workouts and batting practice along with three high level games against the best competition in our eight state coverage area. Last year over 100 scouts were in attendance and every D1 powerhouse conference in the country was represented. If you are a high level 2015 graduate this is truly a can’t – miss event.
To finish off the summer we will be hosting another Prospect Identification Showcase on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois in Beloit, WI. This event will take place a Pohlman Field, home of the Beloit Snappers, Class A affiliate to the Oakland Athletics. This event is open to all high school graduating classes from Illinois and Wisconsin. This will also be the last opportunity of the summer for Wisconsin prospects to showcase themselves in front of the PBR staff before high school is back in session.
All Prep Baseball Report events will be featured at PrepBaseballReport.com. Players will have their profiles hosted on PrepBaseballReport.com along with their verified statistics, videos, and scouting reports from events attended.
