WIAA Quarterfinals: River Falls Blanks Milwaukee Reagan In Five

APPLETON, WI – River Falls advanced to the Division 1 state semifinals with a 10-0 drubbing of Milwaukee Reagan in the quarterfinals on Tuesday morning.
Senior James Witt threw a complete game 2-hitter for the Wildcats to propel them to the next round. Arizona State commit Alec Marsh started on the mound for the Huskies, but things didn’t go as he would have hoped.
Joe Halling opened the scoring in the top of the 1st with a 2 RBI single to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. In the 2nd, Brian Grove dropped down a perfect safety squeeze to make the score 3-0.
Grove added to his big day with an inside the park home run in the 4th and a 2 RBI single in the 5th. He finished the day 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Halling finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
Witt took a no-hitter into the bottom of the 4th before Reagan finally got on base. He finished the game with 5 innings pitched, 5 strikeouts, and no earned runs.
Marsh took the loss for Reagan. He pitched 2.2 innings, allowed 5 earned runs, and surrendered 7 hits.
River Falls will face Kimberly in the first Division 1 semifinal tonight.
