Unsigned Senior Spotlight: LHP Brad Sabol

Today’s unsigned senior spotlight features LHP Brad Sabol (Lake Country Lutheran). Sabol has a strong 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame with projectability. He works with a long arm action from a ¾ slot. He shows feel and command for his fastball at 79-82 mph with slight run. His sweeping curveball stayed around the zone on a 10/4 plane at 65-67 mph. His slider has similar action and velocity at 68 mph. Sabol also features a straight change at 67-69 mph.
Sabol has been seeing interest from a number of different schools including University of Saint Thomas, UW-Milwaukee, Valparaiso, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stout, Minnesota State University-Mankato and Youngstown State.
So far the big lefty has made visits to University of Saint Thomas, UW-Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Dayton University, Ohio University, Minnesota State University-Mankato.
“The school needs to have a good track record with their Finance and Accounting Degree's. I would also really like to go out of state but I am willing to stay in state if the opportunity is right,” said Sabol.
According to Sabol he currently holds a 3.23 GPA while also taking several AP classes. He also scored a 25 on his ACT.
His junior year Sabol posted an 8-0 record with a 1.60 ERA. He struck out 79 in 48 innings pitched.
Lake Country Lutheran finished just shy of a state championship in 2013 and Sabol says, “My absolute number one goal is to finish up what we didn't last year by winning state. Another goal is to win conference player of the year.”
