Today’s unsigned senior spotlight features Wilmot’s Evan Ketterhagen. Ketterhagen has a lanky frame with a slender build at 6-foot, 140-pounds. He has a projectable frame and shows the ability to play multiple positions. Offensively he hits from a balanced stance, slightly open with a short stride. His bat path works well and is short to the baseball. Defensively in the outfield he uses a crow hop to get through the baseball, setting himself up well behind the ball. His arm plays at 80 mph from the outfield. On the infield he shows some softness in his hands and uses a long over the top arm action at 76 mph across the diamond.
Ketterhagen said he has received interest from a number of schools including North Central, Benedictine, Marian, Monmouth, Northland, Hamline University, University of Saint Francis, Cornell, and UW-Stout.
He’s taken visits to both Marian and North Central early in July as well as Monmouth, University of Saint Francis and Benedictine this fall.
Ketterhagen said he is looking to stay within a relatively close drive to home and is looking to major in accounting or business finance. According to Ketterhagen he scored a 25 on his ACT and holds a 3.61 GPA.
He said, “I would prefer it to be a smaller school, but if I really like the campus and feel of the school I would consider a larger school.”
Last year Ketterhagen helped Wilmot to the Sectional Finals where they lost to Kenosha Bradford. He hit .339 with a .440 on base percentage and drove in 17 runs in 23 games. He scored 28 runs and stole 16 bases on 17 attempts.
