We recently caught up with Kaukauna senior SS Alex Meyerhofer after his 3-for-4 game last week against Appleton North.
The unsigned left handed hitting senior infielder carries a long, loose, lanky frame, and has projection for additional strength. Defensively he showed above average actions with above average arm strength. His short arm action plays well on the infield, showing the ability to throw on the run with good body control. Offensively hitting from the left side he took an opposite field approach occasionally opening early. Meyerhofer showed vast improvements since we last saw him a year ago and as a left handed hitting middle infielder, he should be seeing plenty of local attention at the next level.
Meyerhofer said,
“I want a college program that fits me the best. I want to be able to attain a degree and also continue my baseball career while still learning how to become an adult. I mainly want to feel comfortable and love the atmosphere of the university.”
Meyerhofer has expressed interest in Minnesota-Duluth, UW-LaCrosse, Indiana State, UW-Stevens Point and Carrol while keeping his options open to find the best fit.
Minnesota-Duluth and UW-LaCrosse look to be the front runners but he has also made visits to Dubuque Iowa and Carthage University.
