Scouting Director – Illinois/Wisconsin
Andrew Brahier is an unsigned senior third baseman from Jefferson HS. He has a solid frame at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds. Defensively he showed above average range with solid infield actions and his hands play athletically. His arm action is loose and accurate at 73 mph across the diamond. Offensively he hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and a minimal load. He uses a short path and flashed extension creating hard contact. Brahier looks to work the middle of the field and posted an 80 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Brahier said,
“I’m looking for a program completely dedicated to baseball. I want to be put into a situation with a bunch of hard working teammates and coaches as well as a facility to do so. Education is also a main factor in my college search, but I don’t yet know my intended major.”
Brahier has maintained a 3.98 cumulative GPA throughout high school and scored a 29 on his ACT.
According to Brahier he has received interest from UW-Oshkosh, Bradley University, Beloit College, Hamline University and Northland. He has only visited UW-Oshkosh as of right now but is working on others.
Last year Jefferson had an earlier than expected exit from the playoffs but Brahier has high expectations for this year’s squad.
“I’ve got nothing but huge expectations for our team this year. We have the first five in our order returning as well as all our pitching, and every player fighting for the spots vacated by our graduated seniors will be filled with talented, hard-working kids. The goal is always a conference championship and a deep run in the playoffs hopefully ending at state.”
