Sam Swan is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound switch hitting middle infielder from Arrowhead HS. Swan stood out at the Southern Wisconsin Prospect ID where he ranked in the top five infield prospects at the event. Most recently Swan cracked the top 30 in the Class of 2015 rankings as he was one of the top newcomers to the rankings.
Defensively he showed softness to his hands with a quick release and advanced transfer. He is highly efficient getting the baseball from his glove to his target. He also showed the ability to play through the baseball well. His arm action is short and loose from a high ¾ slot. He showed an athletic arm action with accuracy and quick release at 71 mph across the diamond.
Offensively Swan hits from both sides and shows similar abilities both left and right handed. He hits from a balanced stance while using a short stride. Swan featured good hands from both sides of the plate. He projects as a line drive type hitter and posted exit velocities of 81 mph from the right side and 76 mph from the left side.
Swan is currently searching for the right fit at the next level and has always worked hard to try to make that happen.
“I started taking my baseball career to the next level starting with youth ball, I have always taken baseball seriously and always been trying to better myself through hard work.”
