As the 2014 class continues to make their college commitment, Logan Rupard (Arrowhead, WI) is the most recent to make his college commitment. Rupard, the No. 18 prospect in the state, recently committed to Flagler College, a Division II program in Florida.Logan Rupard

Rupard is a physical first baseman with legitimate power from the right side. We’ve recorded his exit velocity at 90 mph from the tee. He is extremely athletic as well and runs well for his size. He is the type of hitter that can make an impact in the middle of a lineup right away for Flagler.

PBR: What were you looking for in a college program to continue your baseball career at?

Rupard: The coaching staff was a big part of my decision. I wanted to be part of a program with strong, dedicated coaching that will help me continue to improve my baseball skills. It was also important that the coaches have trust and confidence in my abilities and work ethic.

PBR: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you?

Rupard: I’ve been contacted for baseball, football and academics by schools in the upper Midwest and Northeast. But after my Travel Baseball season ended, I wanted to play college baseball in the South. I went to a showcase at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. After having a good showing, I was contacted by several of the college coaches that saw me, ultimately leading me to my verbal commitment to Flagler College.

PBR: What do you like the most about the college you committed to and what were the key factors in making your decision?

Rupard: Flagler College is located in historical St. Augustine, FL, with an amazing European look. The smaller size makes its atmosphere feel very personable. The strong academics of this private college will challenge and prepare me to reach my career goals.

PBR: What is your best attribute as a baseball player and how does that transfer onto the field for your team?

Rupard: I work hard every day to improve, giving my complete effort in training and on the field. I am a big team player; I always do whatever it takes for the benefit of the team.

PBR: What part of your game needs the biggest improvement, why, and what will you do to improve it?

Rupard: I want to continue to increase my throwing velocity. I am using bands/cords to strengthen my upper back and practice with a weighted baseball.

PBR: What is your most memorable moment in your baseball career to this point?

Rupard: The moment when I was offered by Flagler College and I realized that this is it, this is what I have worked so hard for my entire life.

PBR: What advice would you give to young baseball players striving to get where you are?

Rupard: No matter what happens- always give your best effort, work hard every day and stay positive. Remember that if you hit an obstacle, your hardest day was yesterday.
