Preseason Preview: Osseo-Fairchild

The Wisconsin high school season kicks off on March 29, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on March 21, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team.

Cal Freitag's ERA last season to go along with a 5-0 record on the mound. Freitag also plays short for the Thunder hitting .343 last season, and was named to second team all conference.
OUTLOOK
Last season the Thunder shared the conference title with Chippewa Falls McDonell, but were bounced in the second round of the playoffs by Acadia. The teams strength is its senior class that will anchor the pitching staff and the middle of the order. In order to make another run at the conference title the Thunder will need younger players to step up and contribute at the bottom of the order and on defense.
